OUR APPROACH

The Hub operates through five integrated pillars that collectively create a supportive ecosystem for climate AI innovation across the continent.

OUR FIVE INTEGRATED PILLARS

From Prototype to Community Impact

The Hub's methodology addresses the critical gap between promising research and real-world adoption—systematically moving innovations from development to scaled deployment.

The Hub's methodology addresses the critical gap between promising research and real-world adoption—systematically moving innovations from development to scaled deployment.

Year One: Foundations

Establishing operational structures, implementing the research framework, and building the network. Identifying promising climate AI innovations ready for scaling through expert consultations, scoping research, and open calls.

Year Two: Intensive Scaling

Intensified scaling support for selected innovation cohorts through mentorship, technical assistance, partnership development with public sector institutions, and securing resources and investments to scale.

Mentorship & Technical Assistance

Matching innovations with experienced coaches who bring both technical expertise and practical scaling experience. Providing support on public sector engagement, AI model refinement, sustainability models, and responsible pathways to scale.

Demonstration Platforms

Physical events connecting climate innovations with stakeholders, investors, policymakers, and end-users—plus intensive pivot workshops where teams refine strategies alongside responsible AI researchers and industry experts.

Data Access Brokering

Negotiating data-sharing agreements with meteorological agencies, space agencies, and research institutions; developing tools to make climate data more discoverable; and establishing responsible data governance frameworks.

Year Three: Documenting Impact

Documenting impact, developing scaling playbooks, and ensuring sustainability of supported innovations—building a replicable knowledge base for the broader climate AI ecosystem across Africa.
